Vladimir Beregovoy
Mr. Beregovoy is a retired zoologist, currently living in Virginia. He keeps West Siberian Laikas and Eastern Hounds imported from Kazakhstan. He has published about 20 scientific papers in Russian, when he worked in Russia, on topics of population ecology and genetic polymorphism of color of insects and birds. Between 1962-1970, he worked as a zoologist with the Uralian Branch of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Sverdlovsk (now Ekaterinburg) and did a lot of traveling, doing research projects in zoology. After 1970, he taught a course of evolution zoogeography and ornithology at the Kuban State University, Krasnodar. He emigrated to the USA in 1980 with his family, wife and two kids. In the USA, he has worked as an entomologist and has published about 20 papers in Entomology, mainly about pests of sunflower and greenbug. Through his entire life he has loved dogs and is particularly attracted by the primitive breeds. In 1997, he has published four papers about rules of rating of the hunting Laikas in Russia. He authored two books: “Primitive Breeds-Perfect Dogs”, Don Hoflin Publishing and “Hunting Laika Breeds of Russia”, MMP.
